Over the past decade, the kidney transplant waiting list at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Transplant Center has grown significantly, increasing from 1,000 patients in 2014 to 1,500 in 2024. During this period, the center has averaged approximately 150 cadaveric kidney transplants per year. In 2024, only 10% of waitlisted patients received a cadaveric transplant.
