Over the past decade, NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine has made significant strides in reducing its kidney transplant waiting list, decreasing from approximately 1,500 patients in 2014 to under 700 in 2024. However, this reduction has been primarily due to patients being removed from the list as their health deteriorated during the prolonged wait.
