Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital maintains a stable kidney transplant waiting list of approximately 450 patients, while averaging fewer than 50 cadaveric kidney transplants annually. In 2019, the temporary closure of the transplant center led to a dip in the waiting list as patients were transferred to other facilities; however, the list subsequently returned to its prior level. In 2024, just 12% of waitlisted patients received a cadaveric transplant.
