Newark Beth Israel performed 30 deceased-donor kidney transplants in 2013, but its transplant activity fell sharply afterward. Since then, the program has generally performed only a handful of deceased-donor kidney transplants each year. In fact, annual deceased-donor volume has remained in the single digits, ranging from just 1 to 6 transplants per year. The kidney transplant program remains active, but its current volume is too low to produce a reliable wait-time estimate.
