Over the past decade, Montefiore Einstein Center for Transplantation has made significant strides in reducing its kidney transplant waiting list, decreasing from approximately 1,000 patients in 2014 to 500 in 2025. Since 2020, the center has experienced a substantial increase in cadaveric kidney transplant volumes, with the number of transplants closely aligning with patient demand. As a result, the majority of patients have been transplanted within two years of being placed on the waiting list.
