Dartmouth Hitchcock Memorial Hospital has seen a recent increase in patients seeking kidney transplants. One likely reason is the closure of the kidney transplant surgery program at the University of Vermont Medical Center. Patients from Vermont can now complete much of their evaluation and follow-up care closer to home, but travel to Dartmouth Hitchcock for the actual transplant surgery.
