Over the past decade, Geisinger Medical Center has maintained a kidney transplant waiting list ranging from approximately 200 to 400 patients. Despite performing an average of fewer than 40 cadaveric kidney transplants annually, the center's transplant volume has not kept pace with the demand. In 2024, only 14% of waitlisted patients received a cadaveric transplant.
